About the role#
HII is offering summer internships in Newport News, Virginia, for the summer of 2027. These positions allow students to gain professional experience in technical or administrative roles while learning about our business operations. Interns work 40 hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks.
What you'll do#
You will work on assignments directly related to your field of study. This role provides exposure to the manufacturing and design processes behind naval ships. You will gain practical experience in an engineering or technical capacity.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year college, university, or master's program for Fall 2027.
- Major in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to access various work sites, including aboard ships.
- Physical ability to climb vertical and inclined ladders and perform limited kneeling, stooping, and standing.
- You must upload your unofficial transcripts at the time of application to be considered.
