About the role#
This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in technical or administrative positions within the information technology department at Ingalls Shipbuilding. You may work in a variety of environments, including office settings and work sites aboard ships in various stages of construction or overhaul. This role requires the ability to navigate vertical and inclined ladders and may involve kneeling, stooping, and standing.
What you'll do#
- Gain practical experience in technical or administrative tasks.
- Work a 40-hour week for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer.
- Collaborate with teams to support information systems objectives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program, specifically Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cyber Security.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. You must upload recent college transcripts when you apply.
- Status as an undergraduate or graduate student who will attend a college or university in the fall following the internship.
- At least 18 years of age by mid-May.
- Ability to pass a criminal background investigation, a physical, and a hair follicle drug screen.
