About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in industrial electrical design and construction. You will be involved in real projects, working alongside professionals to gain an in-depth understanding of project management, safety, and business operations. The role focuses on specific disciplines including power system studies, electrical distribution, planning and design, control panel design, instrumentation, or field construction.
What you'll do#
- Collect data and review information to define project scope.
- Record design decisions in internal software to support equipment specifications and drawings.
- Develop electrical drawings using 2D and 3D drafting software.
- Use software tools to communicate project updates clearly with team members and clients.
- Travel to job sites or shops to work alongside craft and manufacturing teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program, or a drafting degree program from a technical college.
- 0-4 years of electrical experience or education.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, manufacturing, industrial, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work effectively with superintendents, engineers, estimators, and customers.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.

- This is a remote position based in Iowa.
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- Travel to job sites may be required based on business needs.
