About the role#
This Engineering intern position offers hands-on experience in industrial electrical design and construction. You will participate in real projects and engage with teams working on current initiatives. The role provides an opportunity to build an electrical construction vocabulary while gaining insight into business operations, project management, and safety protocols. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Collect data and review information to define project scope.
- Record design decisions in software to facilitate the creation of design drawings and equipment specifications.
- Develop electrical drawings using 2D and 3D drafting software to communicate project scope to contractors and fabricators.
- Use software tools to provide clear updates to team members and clients.
- Travel to job sites or shops to work alongside craft and manufacturing teams as projects are completed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program, or pursuit of a drafting degree from a technical college.
- Between 0 and 4 years of electrical experience or education.
- Knowledge of or interest in manufacturing, industrial, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work effectively with superintendents, engineers, estimators, and customers.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
