About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in industrial electrical design and construction. You will work on real projects alongside experienced professionals to build your skills in electrical disciplines, project management, and safety. Each intern focuses on a specific area such as power systems, controls, instrumentation, or field construction.
What you'll do#
- Collect and review project data to define the scope of work.
- Record design decisions in software to help create project drawings and equipment specifications.
- Use 2D and 3D drafting software to develop electrical drawings for contractors and fabricators.
- Communicate project updates to team members and clients.
- Travel to job sites or shops to work alongside the craft and manufacturing teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program or a drafting degree program at a technical college.
- 0-4 years of relevant electrical experience or education.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Interest in manufacturing, industrial, and electrical systems.
- Ability to collaborate with superintendents, engineers, and estimators.
