About the role#
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager Intern to join our automation team for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid internship designed for students interested in industrial construction and project management. You will work under the direct supervision of a Project Manager to support leadership functions and project operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership with daily managerial tasks.
- Manage project control systems and maintain project schedules, including CPM, Last Planner, and crew scheduling.
- Handle site communications such as RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
- Provide estimating take-offs and support for change order analysis.
- Collaborate with trade contractors and attend client meetings.
- Prepare information for monthly project reviews and assist with material procurement.
- Promote our safety culture throughout all daily activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or associate's degree in electrical engineering/technology, Agriculture & Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or construction management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective teams.
- Ability to organize project data, track progress, and prioritize tasks.
- Comfort speaking in front of clients, peers, and managers.
- A flexible approach to adjusting project systems to meet goals.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site at one of our offices in Sioux Center, IA, Sioux Falls, SD, or Omaha, NE.
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026.
