About the role#
The Workforce and Integration Intern will work closely with the Workforce and Integration Department to gain hands-on experience in employment services. This role involves supporting employment specialists with administrative and operational tasks, providing exposure to workforce management systems, and contributing to day-to-day operations. This is an unpaid, full-time internship opportunity for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Work individually with clients to create, update, and review resumes, and assist with interview preparation.
- Support the Workforce team with administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and database quality assurance.
- Reach out to potential employers to discuss job opportunities for clients.
- Maintain communication with employers regarding current job openings.
- Prepare paperwork and documentation required for job applications and client profiles.
What you'll need#
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Preference is given to candidates who are bilingual or multilingual in Spanish, French, Dari, Pashto, or Haitian Creole.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in San Diego, California.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
