About the role#
Indorama Ventures: Indovinya is seeking an Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team in Port Neches, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship designed to provide technical experience within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will work under the supervision of experienced engineers, contributing to either industrial, project, or reliability engineering assignments. This position requires an on-site presence for the duration of the summer program.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support for assigned engineering areas and assist with daily operations.
- Give regular status updates to your mentor regarding project assignments.
- Present your final project work to the Site Leadership Team at the end of the internship.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives and complete all required training programs.
- Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds to support company goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited university, seeking a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering.
- Junior or Senior status by the end of Spring 2025.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Proficiency with email, the internet, and Microsoft programs.
- Knowledge of basic principles and methods used in chemical plant manufacturing and analysis.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to research complex information, draw valid conclusions, and identify appropriate resources for problem-solving.
- Ability to build professional relationships across the organization.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Proficiency in process simulation programs is preferred.
