About the role#
The Engineering Intern will learn and apply basic engineering and lean manufacturing principles. You will perform entry-level assignments, such as authoring work instructions based on specifications and drawings, while receiving supervision and guidance. This role offers developmental work experience through both general and specialized tasks.
What you'll do#
- Support and analyze manufacturing processes.
- Study, design, and document plant assembly processes.
- Communicate analytic results through oral presentations and formal written reports.
- Assist with continuous improvement efforts, specifically focusing on quality, line balance, safety, ergonomics, and overall efficiency.
- Handle special projects as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related science or technology field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year by the start date.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher and a solid academic track record.
- Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a self-directed environment.
- Familiarity with industrial, hand, and power tools.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Flexibility to work both day and evening shifts.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship located in Salem, Missouri.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, as sponsorship is not available.
