About the role#
Join the Strategic Enablement & Emerging Solutions team as a Research & Analysis Intern. You will support multiple workstreams within the utility programs practice. This 10-week internship provides hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, and industry strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build skills in project management, communication, and teamwork while gaining exposure to client interactions.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with domain leads to support ongoing tasks and ad-hoc needs.
- Conduct research and analysis on utility programs, emerging energy technologies, distributed energy resources, virtual power plants, and electrification.
- Create dashboards, presentations, and visualizations to support business strategy.
- Support product development and commercialization initiatives for energy solutions.
- Assist with business development, proposal support, and strategic planning.
- Synthesize complex information into concise summaries and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- At least 30 completed college-level credit hours.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Energy, Sustainability, Engineering, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or Marketing.
- US citizenship and residency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel Power Query.
- Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT.
- Strong analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: Completed bachelor's degree with enrollment in a master's program or 9 completed credits in graduate coursework.

- Term: Summer 2027 (starting early June).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Locations: Reston, Virginia or New York, New York.
- Compensation: $23 per hour for undergraduate interns and $28 per hour for graduate interns.
- Employment: Full-time.
