About the role#
ICF is seeking a Business Analyst Intern for our Centralized Operations, Analytics and Technology group. You will support the Sightline platform by working with product managers, architects, and developers. This is a full-time, 10-week internship running from June through August 2027. You will gain experience translating business needs into technical requirements while receiving guidance from team members.
What you'll do#
- Gather, clarify, and document business, data, and system requirements.
- Create and update user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Participate in stakeholder and technical meetings to capture decisions and action items.
- Develop and maintain product and process documentation.
- Review system inputs, outputs, and data workflows for completeness.
- Support Technical and QA teams by answering questions regarding requirements.
- Track assigned tasks and communicate progress or risks to the team.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum practices such as sprint planning and retrospectives.
What you'll need#
- Minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours by the start date.
- Coursework in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or Mathematics.
- US citizenship and residency in the U.S. with authorization to work.
- Exposure to business analysis, process mapping, data analysis, or software testing.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Technical curiosity and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals.
- Understanding of Agile methodology, programming concepts, and machine learning.
- Familiarity with cloud computing and software development life cycles.

- This role is available in Reston, Virginia, or remotely within the U.S.
- Work modality options include on-site, remote, or hybrid.
- The position is paid at $23 per hour.
