About the role#
This internship with the Chief Sustainability Office focuses on how regulations, supplier engagement, and circular supply chain initiatives shape global business decisions. You will work within the Infrastructure and Technology department to evaluate how sustainability impacts operations and supply chain resilience.
What you'll do#
- Research sustainability disclosure requirements and Extended Producer Responsibility legislation.
- Assess how these regulations affect IBM operations and supplier programs.
- Develop recommendations for circular supply chain opportunities that support business value.
- Use AI tools and analytics platforms to analyze sustainability data.
- Participate in projects that connect sustainability goals with business value.
- Observe strategic partnership development and sustainability innovation through internal forums.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to analyze technical concepts regarding manufacturing, material flows, and recycling systems.
- Interest in environmental responsibility and ethical business practices.
- Experience or interest in AI, automation, and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive mindset.
