About the role#
Hitachi Rail is seeking an intern for the Summer 2027 term to support our procurement team in Pittsburgh. This is a full-time, paid position that provides hands-on experience within the urban transit industry. You will work alongside professionals to support procurement activities and gain insight into our global operations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and manage periodical spend reports at the geographic area level.
- Assist with local procurement execution by drafting RFP and RFQ documentation.
- Support the preparation and finalization of purchase orders and contract documentation for local commodities.
- Help analyze supplier performance by gathering feedback from internal units and customers.
- Assist business functions with specific procurement actions to help achieve cost reduction goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year university program studying Engineering, Business, Economics, or Law, with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- 0-3 years of experience in procurement.
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral.
- Experience or education using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Familiarity with SAP and SAP E-Auctions is preferred.
