About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship running from May 2027 through August 2027. You will work on-site at our Nashville, Tennessee facility. As an Applications Engineering Intern, you will support our engineering teams in the design, build, and deployment of custom automated equipment.
What you'll do#
- Design custom automation lines with a team of applications engineers.
- Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and applications engineers to brainstorm and vet automation solutions.
- Create CAD models and conduct automation timing studies.
- Prepare quote materials and contact vendors for product quotes or technical expertise.
- Communicate directly with customers to gather requirements, present concept designs, and guide them through the automation process.
- Develop and present an intern project to the applications team and general management.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software.
- Basic knowledge of electrical or pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
