About the role#
The Supply Chain & Procurement Intern will support our purchasing and supply chain teams in Plainville, CT. Working under the guidance of a Materials Manager or Supply Chain professional, you will gain hands-on experience in supplier management, inventory control, and manufacturing operations. This is a full-time, on-site summer internship for 2027.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply Ralliant Business System (RBS) lean principles to support continuous improvement.
- Assist buyers with purchase orders, lead times, delivery dates, and material availability.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, pricing, and supply issues.
- Support Kanban and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to improve material flow.
- Assist with RFQs, quote comparisons, sourcing activities, and supplier research.
- Collect and analyze purchasing, inventory, and delivery data to identify trends.
- Support supplier performance activities, including on-time delivery and issue resolution.
- Help identify opportunities to reduce cost and eliminate waste using Lean principles.
- Create and maintain Excel reports and supply chain metrics.
- Prepare project updates, data summaries, and final presentations for leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or MBA in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2028.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
- Basic understanding of purchasing, supply chain, inventory, or manufacturing processes.
- Ability to collect and analyze data using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
- Willingness to spend time in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and respectful workplace practices.
- Interest or exposure to Lean, Kanban, or VMI is preferred.
