About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Group Benefit Sales organization. You will gain exposure to the insurance industry while developing skills in business development, relationship management, and data analysis. You will work directly with professionals to support the growth and retention of commercial dental, vision, life, and disability benefit programs.
What you'll do#
- Support teams focused on new business growth and client retention.
- Participate in broker and client meetings, both in person and virtually.
- Assist with prospect pipeline management, customer analysis, and account planning.
- Learn about the Humana Group Benefits product portfolio.
- Collaborate with partners across Sales, Underwriting, Marketing, and Operations.
- Use CRM systems, reporting tools, and analytics platforms to organize information and support sales activities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and business insights.
- Participate in professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a capstone project.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time undergraduate or graduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Insurance & Risk Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Previous experience in leadership, customer service, sales, or campus involvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Goal-oriented mindset with an interest in client-facing work.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24 - August 13, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. You must be available to work in-person in Louisville, KY for 2-3 days per week.
