About the role#
As a Graduate Analytics Intern, you will work at the forefront of healthcare analytics and innovation. You will contribute to Humana’s data-driven approach to improving quality, affordability, and member outcomes. This 12-week program places you on a high-impact team where you will apply analytical and problem-solving skills to real business challenges. You will gain exposure to executive leadership and participate in networking opportunities designed to support your professional growth.
What you'll do#
- Develop analytical frameworks and solutions to address healthcare business challenges.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and insight generation regarding consumer health, clinical outcomes, and well-being.
- Analyze diverse data sources to identify actionable insights about members, care experiences, and healthcare utilization.
- Build predictive and prescriptive models to support acquisition, retention, engagement, and wellness initiatives.
- Apply machine learning, natural language processing, and large language model techniques to support healthcare analytics.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Translate complex analytical results into practical recommendations for operational improvements.
- Work with business partners, clinicians, and cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Document methods, assumptions, and results in a clear and reproducible manner.
- Support the development of tools to identify and reduce biased language in healthcare documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time master’s degree program in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, Epidemiology, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
- Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship requiring 3-4 days per week in the office.
- Locations include Louisville, KY; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Chicago, IL; Arlington, VA; New York, NY; and Nashville, TN.
- The position is paid and full-time for the 12-week duration.
