About the role#
This 12-week summer internship offers students the opportunity to apply actuarial concepts to real business challenges. You will work alongside professionals to gain exposure to the healthcare business while strengthening your analytical and communication skills. The program includes structured project work, professional development sessions, and networking opportunities within the actuarial community.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and analyze data for product development, pricing, reserving, and financial reporting.
- Support the preparation and review of experience reports, rate analyses, and other actuarial deliverables.
- Identify trends, evaluate results, and develop recommendations based on data insights.
- Document analyses, assumptions, data sources, and findings for business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with actuarial teams and business partners to support enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Present project work and findings to team members and leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career as an actuary.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, from May 24 to August 13, 2027.
- You must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Louisville, Kentucky and requires in-person attendance for the duration of the internship.
- A housing stipend is provided for the term.
- The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
