About the role#
This is an internship within the Structured & Private Credit team at HOOPP. You will gain exposure to a range of corporate and asset-based credit strategies. The team manages investments for a large Canadian pension plan and seeks an intern who can manage an independent workstream while contributing to a team environment.
What you'll do#
- Build financial models in Excel and create presentations using Microsoft Office.
- Use Python, business intelligence, and data visualization tools to support investment processes.
- Research and apply generative AI to enhance team workflows.
- Review documents to synthesize complex information into clear takeaways and recommendations.
- Manage your own workstream while collaborating with the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
- Previous experience through one or two co-op terms or related work.
- Proficiency in Python programming and Microsoft Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to summarize information.
- You must be returning to your studies after the work term.
