About the role#
This is a four-month student internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Pension Services Data Science and Analytics team at HOOPP. This role involves delivering insights, reporting, and data governance to support the organization. You will work in a hybrid capacity based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Interpret operational data and projections to help leadership make informed decisions.
- Build and improve reports and handle ad-hoc data requests using Power BI and SQL.
- Perform deep dives into complex datasets to find actionable insights.
- Work with teams across the organization to provide tailored analytics and data solutions.
- Support initiatives to build a comprehensive data catalogue for business applications.
- Use tools like Microsoft Azure and Power BI to evolve business processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a program such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Practical knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various teams and offer clear insights.
- Experience or comfort working with all levels of management to negotiate requirements and project priorities.
- A curious mindset that focuses on understanding the underlying reasons behind data trends.
