About the role#
This is a full-time, paid student internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will report to the Director of Actuarial Solutions and support the team with actuarial testing, data analysis, and quality control. This role offers hands-on experience with pension calculations, system changes, and defect analysis.
What you'll do#
- Test system releases, including defect fixes, new plan changes, regulatory updates, and regression testing.
- Investigate calculation defects by documenting findings and quantifying their impact.
- Process monthly benefit revaluation cases for retired members and perform off-system verifications.
- Perform off-system calculations for specific member cases.
- Analyze system data to identify issues that could affect calculation accuracy or reporting.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a university degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Actuarial Science.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, specifically with formulas, lookups, and data manipulation.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to break complex problems into manageable steps.
- Experience with Python is an asset.
