About the role#
This is a full-time, 4-month summer internship based in Calgary. You will join the Economics & Investment Research function to support client investment goals through quantitative research and tool development. The team provides economic outlooks, macroeconomic research, and scenario analysis for portfolio risk and asset allocation.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research using macroeconomic and financial data to support client advice and portfolio management.
- Gather data and build statistical models for investment research projects.
- Collaborate with multi-asset portfolio, risk, and investment strategy teams to debate findings and explore solutions.
- Prepare written materials and presentations to communicate research to clients and internal teams.
- Build LLM-based prompting strategies, pipelines, and agentic workflows.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor, master, or PhD program in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Experience with R or Python programming.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with LLM-based processes or econometrics is an asset.
