About the role#
PenderFund Capital Management is seeking an Equity Investment Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Small Cap Equity Team to assist with investment research and portfolio maintenance. This role uses a private equity approach to public markets, meaning you will examine investments from the perspective of a business owner. You will gain exposure to all workflows of an investment firm while receiving training from senior professionals.
What you'll do#
- Research fundamental aspects of businesses the firm owns or is evaluating.
- Support the equity team by conducting research and analysis on special projects.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss investment ideas and insights.
- Join research meetings involving interviews with company management teams.
- Prepare and maintain fundamental company and industry research reports and investment models.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in investment management.
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starting attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work within time constraints.
- Curiosity about how businesses work and a talent for critical thinking.
- Attention to detail and a team-oriented mindset.

- Location: Vancouver, British Columbia.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
- Modality: This position involves both on-site and remote work.
- Compensation: $22 per hour.
