About the role#
As a Commercial Banking Credit Analyst Intern, you will develop financial analysis and credit assessment skills while working alongside experienced Commercial Bankers. You will contribute to projects, assess risk, and learn how BMO partners with businesses to fuel growth. What you'll do#
- Analyze credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing loans.
- Perform financial analysis, calculations, and risk assessments to provide insights.
- Prepare detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness.
- Support portfolio monitoring, analyze metrics, and assess industry trends to spot risks and opportunities.
- Structure and support new, renewal, and extension loans.
- Build and maintain client relationships in collaboration with Relationship Managers.
- Provide content and support for proposals and presentations.
- Identify revenue, cross-selling, and share of wallet opportunities.
- Serve as a point of contact for service requests and manage data entry into bank systems.
- Analyze issues, determine next steps, and complete diverse tasks within established rules.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program with a graduation date of Spring 2028.
- A preferred minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0.
- A preferred minimum of two undergraduate finance and accounting classes or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations is an asset.
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- A detail-oriented and self-motivated mindset.
- Ability to work as a team player and think critically.
- A passion for Commercial Banking.
