About the role#
This position is a 4-month internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Capital Markets Finance team to assist with financial reporting, analysis, and operational finance tasks. The role provides exposure to both financial and legal entity reporting processes.
What you'll do#
- Provide financial advisory and support to help the team meet financial targets.
- Identify risks and opportunities while performing analysis on financial performance.
- Reconcile data between the subledger system and the performance dashboard daily, including the investigation of any variances.
- Assist with the coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial ledger close and reporting cycles.
- Support the annual Legal Entity reporting process, including trial balance validation.
- Coordinate with the taxation team to prepare information regarding complex tax issues.
- Track new deals and assist with cash forecasting in collaboration with the front office, operations, treasury, and statutory reporting teams.
- Contribute to ad hoc initiatives and special projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Business degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
- Strong interest in obtaining a CPA designation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities under pressure.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Interest in capital markets, investment instruments, and financial reporting.
- Power BI knowledge is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The annual salary range is $44,850.00 to $56,550.00, prorated based on the contract term.
