About the role#
This is a full-time student position with SLC Management, a subsidiary of Sun Life. You will support the investment-related risk and compliance framework for functions under the accountability of the finance team. This role is for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Manage accounting and reporting of loan assets for institutional investors.
- Create daily movement files, including accrued interest calculations.
- Produce fund trial balances on a daily and monthly basis.
- Perform control checks, such as detailed valuation and trial balance analysis for pooled funds, to ensure accurate Net Asset Values.
- Complete regular financial reporting for internal business partners.
- Update queries and reports for the SAP General Ledger.
- Partner with the robotics team to identify and recommend efficiency improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, or Business Administration program at an accredited university.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Previous co-op experience, along with familiarity with Excel Power tools, Tableau, or dashboard software, are considered assets.
- A self-motivated and adaptable approach to learning.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Waterloo or Toronto, Ontario.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to work in-office three or more days per week.
- This is a paid internship position.
