About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will support the accounting processes for PC Bank and PC Insurance. This role covers payroll, expense reports, intercompany transactions, and month end processes. You will work closely with the payroll, treasury, and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll and expense reporting journal entries for PC Insurance and PC Bank.
- Review payroll register mapping to ensure entries hit the correct General Ledger accounts.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and analyze monthly costs.
- Process payroll vendor payments alongside the finance and treasury teams.
- Manage the PC Insurance month end process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Analyze actuals to budget variances.
- Book and reconcile intercompany entries for PC Bank and PC Insurance.
- Support accounting automation initiatives to improve process efficiency.
- Handle ad hoc reporting and requests as needed.
What you'll need#
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- CPA designation or currently in the process of obtaining one.
- 1-2 years of related accounting and finance experience, specifically in payroll accounting, month end processing, and reconciliations.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong aptitude for figures and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with SAP is an asset.
