About the role#
This is an 8-month internship position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the finance department to support mutual fund operations and gain exposure to the financial services industry. The role is based in Toronto and follows a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll do#
- Learn how current market trends affect a mutual fund company.
- Partner with various internal teams to provide financial support.
- Compile financial and operational data for the monthly management reporting process.
- Analyze sales, operations, and financial data to identify key variances and trends.
- Assist in the development and testing of new finance reporting tools.
- Participate in research projects focused on the mutual fund industry and competitive landscape.
- Provide support for finance organizational goals and ad hoc assignments.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a university degree in finance, commerce, business, or economics.
- Strong analytical skills, including a working knowledge of financial terms and ratios.
- Ability to manage projects, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Availability to work on a full-time basis for the duration of the 8-month term.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Macros, or VBA coding is considered an asset.
