About the role#
As an intern on the portfolio management team, you will contribute to the customer risk department. You will work with the team to build process efficiencies and help optimize and implement risk strategies that support business growth. This role provides an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the credit card industry and understand the role of customer risk within the bank.
What you'll do#
- Extract and prepare data for ad-hoc analysis and reporting using PySpark and SQL.
- Build automation processes for monthly and quarterly deliverables.
- Analyze how business strategies impact risk management models.
- Create and track documentation for risk strategies, reporting, and analysis.
- Conduct risk strategy changes and oversee their implementation.
- Explore customer data and brainstorm improvements to existing risk strategies.
What you'll need#
- An academic focus in mathematics, statistics, business, or a quantitative discipline.
- Practical experience with PySpark, SQL, or Python.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented mindset with an ability to propose creative solutions.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and independently execute assigned work.
- A team-oriented and results-driven approach.
- Experience with MS Excel VBA is considered an asset.
