About the role#
Fidelity Canada is hiring students for the Winter 2027 term. You will join a team to gain professional experience within the financial services industry. Students are placed into an area of interest, such as Financial Reporting or Financial Analysis, and are paired with a mentor to support their professional development. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end management reporting by compiling financial and operational data.
- Perform expense report audits and document key processes.
- Contribute to the development of a data governance structure.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Execute critical accounting functions for the FIC and FCAM business units.
- Conduct financial analysis on sales, operations, and financial data to identify trends.
- Assist in the development and testing of new finance reporting tools.
- Support research projects focused on the mutual fund industry.
- Partner with various teams across the organization to support finance goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university degree program for finance, commerce, business, or economics.
- Participation in a registered co-op program.
- Availability to work on a full-time basis for the duration of the term.
- Analytical skills and a working knowledge of financial terms and ratios.
- Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Macros, VBA coding, or Microsoft Access is considered an asset.
