About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to join the Financial Reporting team at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario. You will support corporate accounting and financial reporting functions while gaining experience in asset management. The position runs from January to April 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare financial statements for IMCO Pool funds, IMCO Corporate, and various legal entities.
- Assist with the production of the Annual Report and the annual external audit process.
- Participate in month-end financial close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses for cash, accruals, capital assets, and prepaid expenses.
- Partner with the Tax team for annual filings and coordinate with Legal teams to maintain corporate records.
- Support accounts payable activities and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with custodians and Investment Operations teams to secure financial data.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program focused on Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to deliver accurate work under deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Power Automate, Power BI, VBA, and AI tools is an asset.
- A genuine interest in financial reporting, accounting, and process improvement.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The role follows a hybrid work model with an office-first approach at our downtown location.
