About the role#
This position is open exclusively to current or former HNTB interns. As a Planner I, you will apply planning strategies and technical tools to gather data, assess project outcomes, and develop reporting materials. You will work with interdisciplinary teams on transportation and infrastructure projects from concept development through completion. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Research and collect raw data, and organize or analyze it for project use.
- Perform project analysis using technical guidance and specialized software.
- Assist team members with the development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports.
- Conduct research on planning issues, policies, and concepts.
- Assist in the development of conceptual planning alternatives and the preparation of environmental documents.
- Support stakeholder and public participation processes.
- Maintain records, collections, and files related to specific projects.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with GIS software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to compile and summarize data, such as census and land use data.
- Experience reviewing, preparing, and summarizing research for senior staff.
- Ability to contribute to technical reports and assist in the preparation of presentation materials.
