    About the role#

    This position is for current or former HNTB interns only. As a New Grad Returning Planner I, you will apply planning strategies and use various tools to gather and analyze data. You will support infrastructure and transportation projects by assessing outcomes and developing visuals to communicate findings. This role involves coordinating with inter-disciplinary teams from the initial concept through to project completion.

    What you'll do#

    • Research and collect raw data, then organize and analyze it for project use.
    • Assist team members with tasks such as developing maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reports.
    • Conduct research on issues, policies, and concepts related to planning.
    • Assist in the development of conceptual planning alternatives.
    • Prepare and produce plans, studies, and environmental documents.
    • Support stakeholder and public participation processes.
    • Maintain project-related files and records.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Previous work experience in planning through an internship or prior employment.
    • Ability to use GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience compiling and summarizing data, such as census and land use data, under direction.
    • Skill in reviewing and preparing research for more experienced staff.

    • This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
    • The role is on-site.
    • We are hiring in New York, NY; South Portland, ME; Princeton, NJ; Bedford, NH; Boston, MA; Newark, NJ; Cherry Hill, NJ; Parsippany, NJ; South Norwalk, CT; Rocky Hill, CT; and Chelmsford, MA.
