About the role#
This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in our New York City office. You will support the Rail and Transit department by performing basic engineering tasks. We offer opportunities across several disciplines including track, structural, power, communications, signals, and project management engineering. This role is paid and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Help with the research, development, and design of various projects.
- Prepare engineering drawings and related documentation.
- Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
- Willingness to accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Familiarity with introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Preference is given to students who have completed two years of a Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering program.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is preferred.
- A strong interest in transportation and infrastructure is preferred.
