About the role#
The Construction Co-Op program introduces college students to both office and field operations within the commercial construction industry. You will work alongside project managers, superintendents, and consulting professionals to understand how a project moves from a design idea to a completed structure. This position is based in Erie, Pennsylvania, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Learn to interpret project design drawings and specifications.
- Document site progress and existing conditions through photographs.
- Manage the submittal process and maintain accurate submittal logs.
- Assist the project team with processing Request for Information (RFI) logs.
- Prepare daily reports and help draft weekly meeting minutes for project stakeholders.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and weekly safety audits.
- Attend quality meetings and walkthroughs to ensure project standards.
- Adhere to safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program for civil engineering, construction management, or a related architectural or engineering field.
- A strong interest in construction management and the broader construction industry.
- Competency in business writing and public presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
- Proactive, curious, and strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in, or a strong desire to learn, construction software applications.

- Note: This position requires a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in various weather conditions, and navigate construction sites including ladders and confined spaces.
