About the role#
The Construction Co-Op program introduces college students to office and field operations within the commercial construction profession. You will work under the guidance of corporate managers, project managers, or field superintendents. This rotation provides exposure to professional interactions among management, consulting professionals, clients, and trades. The program aims to build your individual abilities by providing on-site knowledge of how project concepts become reality.
What you'll do#
- Learn and interpret project design drawings and specifications.
- Capture and document project site photographs to record progress and conditions.
- Manage the submittal process and maintain the submittal log.
- Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in processing and maintaining RFI logs.
- Collaborate to prepare weekly meeting minutes for subcontractor and owner meetings.
- Prepare daily reports summarizing project activities.
- Attend safety meetings, walkthroughs, and weekly toolbox talks.
- Review weekly safety audits with the Superintendent.
- Participate in quality meetings and walkthroughs.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use required protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program for civil engineering, construction management, or a related architectural or engineering field.
- A desire to learn about the construction industry and work in construction management.
- Strong business writing and public presentation skills.
- A drive to become a motivated team leader.
- Proactive, curious, and innovative thinking.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent mathematical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in, or a willingness to learn, construction software applications.
- Exceptional personal work habits.

- Note: This role requires passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, as well as participation in ongoing random testing.
