    About the role#

    This summer internship is for college students, specifically those in Civil Engineering or Construction Management programs. The role focuses on field work and is designed for students interested in moving into future Superintendent positions. You will work under the direction of Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, and Drill Operators. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, as out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.

    What you'll do#

    • Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
    • Attend daily, monthly, and periodic safety and job meetings.
    • Perform construction laboring tasks, including cleaning and organizing job sites.
    • Pump blast holes dry using a water pump.
    • Load and unload explosives from trucks.
    • Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
    • Submit accurate, signed time cards on a weekly basis.
    • Work without direct supervision when necessary.
    • Perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and frequent stooping or bending.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
    • A valid driver's license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check required by the ATF.
    • Physical agility to work on uneven or loose outdoor surfaces.
    • Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.

    Location & details#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. The position is on-site at the following locations: Gardiner, ME; Auburn, NH; Brattleboro, VT; Argyle, NY; Watertown, NY; Millford, MA; Rocky Hill, CT; Bethel, PA; Winchester, VA; Liberty, NC; Lebanon, TN; and Douglasville, GA.
