About the role#
This internship is for college students, specifically those in Construction Management or Civil Engineering programs. It is designed for hands-on, field-oriented individuals who want to build a career toward future Superintendent roles. You will receive instruction from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, and Drill Operators. Please note that out-of-town travel and overtime may be required.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily, periodic, and monthly safety and job meetings.
- Perform construction laboring tasks, including pumping blast holes dry and carrying buckets of stemming stone.
- Load and unload explosives from trucks.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your Blaster or Foreman each week.
- Take direction and work independently when needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college program, preferably Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Physical agility to work on uneven, loose surfaces outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for a majority of the workday.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must pass a criminal background check for the ATF.
- Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.

This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for the Summer 2027 term. Positions are available in Gardiner, ME; Auburn, NH; Brattleboro, VT; Argyle, NY; Watertown, NY; Millford, MA; Rocky Hill, CT; Bethel, PA; Winchester, VA; Liberty, NC; Lebanon, TN; and Douglasville, GA.
