About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. We are looking for college students, preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction Management programs, who want a hands-on field experience. This role is designed for those interested in growing into future Superintendent positions. You will work under the direction of Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, or Drill Operators. Be prepared for work in varying weather conditions, as well as potential out-of-town travel and overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily heads-up safety meetings, as well as periodic job and foreman meetings.
- Perform various construction labor tasks, including pumping blast holes dry, loading and unloading explosives, and carrying buckets of stemming stone.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your foreman or blaster on a weekly basis.
- Work unsupervised when required.
What you'll need#
- A valid driver license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check for the ATF.
- Physical agility and the ability to work on uneven, loose surfaces outdoors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stoop and bend for a significant portion of your shift.
- A willingness to learn and develop skills for higher-level tasks.
- While previous construction labor experience is helpful, it is not required.
