About the role#
This internship is designed for college students interested in a hands-on, field-oriented career path in construction. It is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. The role focuses on building skills toward future Superintendent positions by working directly with Superintendents, Blasting Supervisors, and Drill Operators. Please note that this position may require out-of-town travel and overtime.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
- Participate in daily, monthly, and periodic safety and job meetings.
- Perform construction laboring tasks, including pumping blast holes dry, loading and unloading explosives, and carrying buckets of stemming stone.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Submit accurate, signed time cards to your Blaster or Foreman on a weekly basis.
- Work unsupervised on occasion.
- Learn the safety requirements for working on construction sites and around explosives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program, preferably in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record and your own transportation.
- A safety-minded approach to work.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on uneven or loose surfaces.
- Physical capacity to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly, with frequent stooping and bending.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and an ATF criminal background check.
- Previous experience as a construction laborer is helpful but not required.
