About the role#
HGA offers a paid mechanical engineering internship for the summer of 2027. This full-time position runs for approximately 12 weeks, starting on or before June 1, 2027, and concluding in mid-August. You will work on-site at one of our offices in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Boston, or Washington, DC. Please note that we do not provide sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Support HVAC analysis and design for building systems.
- Assist with the design of plumbing and piping systems.
- Contribute to energy conservation and high-performance building projects.
- Participate in sustainable design initiatives and LEED-related activities.
- Gain exposure to multidisciplinary building engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited program for Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical systems emphasis.
- You must be entering your junior year, senior year, or graduate school.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience using Revit.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- An interest in building systems, sustainability, and energy-efficient design.
- Ability to commute to and work from the office.
- Familiarity with Trace 3D+ is a plus.
