About the role#
HGA is hiring a Mechanical Co-Op for students at the University of Minnesota. This is a paid, full-time position based in our Minneapolis office. We offer terms starting in Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027. You will work directly with our engineering team to support the design of mechanical systems for various projects, including healthcare facilities and office complexes.
What you'll do#
- Use software to analyze heating and cooling loads for buildings.
- Model mechanical systems, including distribution ductwork and piping, using Revit.
- Perform technical calculations, such as determining outside air requirements for health care facilities.
- Analyze stress levels in steam distribution piping.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or junior at the University of Minnesota.
- Pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with at least two years of completed coursework.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a collaborative team.
- Ability to commute to our Minneapolis office for on-site work.
- Previous experience in the design or construction industry is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is highly desirable.
