About the role#
HGA offers a paid summer internship for students interested in building technology engineering. This is a full-time, 12-week position running from June 2027 through mid-August. You will work on-site in either our Milwaukee or San Francisco office, gaining hands-on experience through mentorship and project involvement.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of engineering designs, project solutions, and construction documents.
- Perform engineering design calculations and analyses under the guidance of licensed professionals.
- Research codes, standards, and regulations while working with project teams and public agencies.
- Review and analyze reports, drawings, specifications, test results, and project data.
- Use Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other engineering software to support deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to contribute to project success.
- Join project meetings to learn about multidisciplinary design processes.
- Visit construction sites to assist with field observations and documentation.
- Develop your technical and professional skills through direct project experience.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Status as a rising junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Familiarity with Revit.
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
