About the role#
HGA is offering a paid summer internship for students interested in fire protection and life safety engineering. This 12-week program runs from June 1, 2027, through mid-August, with flexibility to start earlier based on your academic schedule. You will work on-site in either Boston or Washington, DC.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and review of fire protection systems.
- Participate in design review meetings, workshops, and project coordination.
- Support the preparation of fire protection design packages.
- Assist with construction administration and project support tasks.
- Participate in site evaluations and document existing fire protection systems.
- Gain exposure to building code requirements and work alongside multidisciplinary project teams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited program for Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Current status as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Experience using Revit.
- A strong interest in fire protection, life safety, and building systems design.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
