About the role#
HGA offers a paid summer internship for electrical engineering students. This 12-week program runs from June 1, 2027, through mid-August. You will work on commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects while gaining exposure to various engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with lighting designs that balance aesthetics and technical performance.
- Support the design of power distribution systems.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations and technical analyses.
- Research codes and regulations while coordinating with city, county, and state officials.
- Review reports, drawings, test results, and design documentation.
- Use industry-standard software to support project delivery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from concept through implementation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering program, at the junior level or higher, or in graduate school.
- Experience with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, EasyPower, DAPPER, or CAPTOR.
- Knowledge of AGi32 or Visual Pro.
- Familiarity with Revit is preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

- Locations: Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI; Boston, MA; or Washington, DC.
- Term: Summer 2027.
