About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is hiring an Aggregates Operations Intern for an 8-month term, running from September 2026 through April 2027. This role is based on-site in Coquitlam, British Columbia. You will gain hands-on exposure to aggregate production and operational processes while working in a safety-focused environment. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support the operations team by managing and communicating key performance indicators.
- Review and improve site safety processes and programs.
- Conduct inventory audits.
- Provide project and maintenance support.
- Help site staff implement plant efficiency improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to safety and quality standards.

- Location: Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 (September to April).
- Employment Conditions: Candidates must pass a post-offer pre-employment physical examination and background check.
- Work Environment: You will work in environments involving moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
