About the role#
Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mining Engineer Intern to work on-site at our aggregate plant and quarry operations in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term. You will work directly with site leadership and experienced operations professionals to support our daily production goals.
What you'll do#
- Support daily plant and quarry operations to drive safety, quality, and productivity.
- Analyze operational data to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Partner with operations leaders on projects focused on production, maintenance, and efficiency.
- Conduct site observations and contribute to ongoing operational and safety initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on your project findings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Mining, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, analysis, and critical thinking.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and adapt to changing site needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- An eagerness to learn about industrial operations.

- Location: Raleigh, NC.
- Work Modality: On-site at an aggregate plant or quarry.
- Environment: You will work in outdoor environments, around production equipment, and on active job sites. You must follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
