About the role#
HealthFitness offers a part-time internship for students needing to complete a university requirement. This role provides hands-on experience in a fitness facility setting. You will gain exposure to various health and wellness operations while working with staff and members.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and fitness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations for participants and personal training clients.
- Prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs for healthy individuals.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format through team teaching.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness programs through various channels.
- Assist staff with daily office duties and attend scheduled meetings.
- Help coordinate site events related to health and wellness.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
- Degree focus in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Health Education, Recreation, or Health Promotion.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
