About the role#
HealthFitness offers internship opportunities for students completing their university requirements. You will work in corporate, community, or hospital-based settings to gain hands-on experience in the fitness and wellness industry. This role provides exposure to daily facility operations and allows you to practice professional skills in a real-world environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and wellness guidance for facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations and prescribe exercise programs for clients.
- Develop and implement special programs or events for the site.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness services.
- Assist staff with the coordination of health and wellness programming.
- Support daily office duties and attend scheduled meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's or Master's program. Relevant fields include Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, or Real Estate.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Eligibility to complete your university internship requirement.
- Strong communication skills to instruct and interact with members.
- A Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is optional but helpful.
