About the role#
This internship is a 12 to 16 week hybrid program that combines strength and conditioning education with applied sports science. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to support athletes ranging from youth to elite professionals. You will gain hands-on experience through weekly lectures, practicums, and self-paced learning modules while working alongside human performance mentors.
What you'll do#
- Learn and refine coaching skills under the guidance of performance mentors.
- Assist with athlete assessments using tools like force plates, velocity profiling, and motion capture.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret biomechanical and physiological data.
- Help integrate data findings into training and recovery planning.
- Collaborate with coaches, therapists, and sports scientists to monitor athlete progress.
- Support applied research, literature reviews, and data presentation.
- Maintain and calibrate assessment technology.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- A strong foundation in human performance and sports science concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Excel, with preference given to those with experience in Python or R.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or a willingness to obtain them.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools like force plates or motion capture is helpful.
