Fall Semester Fitness Intern

About the role#

HealthFitness offers internship opportunities for students completing their university internship requirements in corporate, community, and hospital-based settings. This role provides hands-on experience and exposure to various fitness and health-related operations.

What you'll do#

• Provide supervision and fitness or wellness guidance to facility members.
• Perform fitness evaluations for program participants and personal training clients, including interpreting data and prescribing exercise programs.
• Assist in compiling participation data and completing necessary reports.
• Develop and implement special programs or events, including health and wellness programming.
• Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness services through various promotional channels.
• Teach at least one group exercise class format and shadow personal trainers.
• Assist staff with daily office operations and attend scheduled meetings.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior undergraduate or Master's student.
• Degree pursuit in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Recreation, Health Education, Health Promotion, or a related field.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• Strong communication skills to effectively instruct and interact with a diverse group of individuals.
• Ability to teach a minimum of one group exercise class format.
