About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a fitness facility setting. Students will gain exposure to various aspects of health and wellness operations while completing university internship requirements. This is a part-time, paid position based in Spring, Texas, for the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and fitness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations for program participants and personal training clients.
- Interpret fitness data to prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs.
- Develop and implement special programs or events.
- Assist with compiling participation data and completing required reports.
- Contribute to the marketing of fitness and wellness programs through various channels.
- Teach at least one group exercise class format.
- Job shadow personal trainers and assist with day-to-day office duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior undergraduate or Master's student.
- Degree focus in Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Recreation, Health Education, Health Promotion, Health Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
